What is the culture like at FDU?

The Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) is a private University that promises to mold students to be better world citizens. The college promotes the concept of global education and has more than a hundred undergraduate courses. Students are encouraged to take part in various non-academic activities and these include athletics, dramatics, literary, creative writing and many more. The students lead all these activities and they are expected to take an active part. Other than academics, the college provides and supports various cultural activities and diverse special interest groups such as Association of Black Collegians, Gay and Straight People, Starshine Theatre Company, Computing/MIS Club and many more. The culture is open and there seems to a healthy interaction between the staff and students. Counseling is also provided for students to help them seek help for their personal and spiritual problems. While the college is not repressive and does not keep a watch on students, it also has extensive rules and code of conduct that seek to bring some order among the students. Special care is also provided to students who have disabilities or have come from other countries (General Information, 2007).
