Lewis’s response to the claim that moral law is nothing more than our herd instinct was that moral law is not just herd instinct. The instinct to Lewis is the desire to do something, and it only comes at particular instances, but the moral law is evident all the time in our life. The herd instinct is stimulated by imagination and arousing our pity on others. He says no bad and wrong instincts, but all are purposeful to the human body; however, the moral law governs decisions we take since it is in us.
