What is child maltreatment?

The abuse and neglect of children under the age of 18 are known as child maltreatment. This encompasses all forms of physical and/or emotional abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, carelessness, and financial or other exploitation in the context of a relationship of duty, trust, or authority that results in real or prospective harm to a child’s health, life, development, or dignity.
