The abbreviation NSPS stands for non-structural proteins. An NSPS is a non-structural protein that contains enzymes that are essential because they are necessary for the establishment of a replication–transcription complex, which is necessary for both the transcription and replication of the genome. In spite of the fact that they are encoded by the virus, these proteins do not make up the actual viral particle.
