What does soma sema mean, and how does this idea describe the hero’s reaction to the mystical marriage?

In Ancient Greek philosophy, the concept of soma sema was introduced by Pythagoras and developed by Plato as the body prison idea. Philosophers addressed Egyptian mystical stories and believed that a human soul was imprisoned in the body. As such, the body turned out to be a tomb for the soul.

Life in a body that does not belong to a human is complex, but it is not the reason for appreciating death as liberation. The soma sema concept provoked multiple debates, and it is normal to hear that some heroes deny their bodily nature to recognize the strength of their moral spirit. Earthly embodiment is not a final sentence but a chance for individuals to strive for freedom and discover new meanings of life’s worth.

Soma semi may be applied to a better understanding of the hero’s journey, also known as a monomyth. In that journey, there were several stages for the hero to take, including the stage of initiation when the meeting with the goddess and a mystical marriage occurred. The main idea of such a marriage represents the hero’s success on the road to growth and glory.

The hero’s soul and the queen’s soul are united in multiple mystical rituals, including sacrifices. Soma semi-describes the hero’s reaction to the mystical marriage as the evaluation of the already achieved results and an understanding of what had to be done and what was actually done within a particular period.

This conception proves that people must work hard and complete their tasks and functions to observe the cherished outcomes. This life path is not easy, but humans possess a number of skills and knowledge to satisfy their needs and improve their future.
