India has become a periphery country by the mid-1800s after being a core country. As a core country, it was independent and had a strong and developing economy. Moreover, India had a successful textile trade before Great Britain colonized India and controlled all the economic issues. After that, it lost its independence, and economic progress started to slow. Therefore, instead of a real competitive advantage, Great Britain used India to strengthen its power instead of cooperating.
