What do words refer to? Are they simply marks on a page or do they describe things in the world? Can you use a word that represents all examples of a thing even when you have not experienced most of them? Is the meaning of a word something we all have in our minds when we use it? Are we able to think in universals or are we always thinking of a particular?

I want to believe that words may refer to the whole world from an abstract point of view. They are not simply the marks on pages but the means with the help of which a speaker or a writer can describe people, events, or other things around. Words are amazingly powerful in the modern world, and even one word may create an impression or destroy the reputation for several seconds. Therefore, it is desirable not to use words that represent all examples of something when a person has not experienced most of them. The choice of words is crucial. Sometimes, people use words with the meaning which they do not have in their minds because of emotional, health, social, or other outside factors. It happens because instead of thinking in universals, people continue thinking of a particular and deprive themselves of a chance to discover some new aspects of life.
