Netflix culture deck is a remarkable set of staff management principles highly appraised by various professionals. As Facebook CEO Sheryl Sandberg states, it “may be the most important document ever produced in Silicon Valley”. Its apparent benefits lie in giving the candidates and employees a direct message on what the company expects from them and what its values are. The concept of freedom and responsibility stated in the culture deck widely promoted creativity among the employees, encouraging them to use all the available resources and find solutions to the challenges they faced.

Provision of access to significant amounts of company data, which are usually considered confidential, showed the company’s trust in its employees and contributed to motivating them. Finally, making the company deck public allowed candidates to decide whether they were suitable for them before sending an application, reducing the number of unsuccessful interviews. So, the culture deck was an effective medium for the company to state and distributed its values.
