There is at least one belief that Descartes finds indubitable. That is the belief that one thinks. Even if an allowance for an evil being is made, one still would have to be thinking of something to deceive them. An example of this would be forming a belief about the world by looking at the gray wall and thinking that a wall is gray. Even if one is dreaming about this or is being deceived by some evil powers, they still form the belief of visually experiencing the color of gray. There is no way for an evil deceiver to trick someone into imagining having this experience without actually giving one that very experience.
