What are the social institutions of society?

A social institution is a social order mechanism focused on meeting social needs, and it consists of people with a common purpose. Family is an essential social institution that determines kinship and provides identity to individuals and passes culture to other generations, and puts you where you belong. The church reinforces the norms and values of the community to people. Education in society is to provide skills and knowledge for others to pass the culture to the next generation. The government makes laws for its citizens as one of its roles. It allows its people to exercise their civil rights and liberties. Media, as the last one, ensure that the community receives the correct information.
