The Gaspee incident is inextricably linked to the history of the American struggle for independence. Gaspee would be a mighty British customs schooner, carrying out maritime navigation control on the territory of the peninsula Gaspee Point. On June 9, 1772, the ship was attacked by American forces. Explanation:

The war in the United States for the independence of the people in 1775-1783 is one of the most significant events in world history. It determined the course of the future fate of humanity, putting human rights at the highest level of power. It was the first civilization in the history of Christianity, which created a democratic society out of ordinary people.

The American Revolution proclaimed the natural equality of people before the word of law. Since then, a person’s religiosity and nationality have ceased to affect his or her right to vote and live freely.

Events began to develop in 1767 when England imposed huge customs duties on goods exported from the country. These measures were taken against colonies and numerous organizations that conflicted with the legislature. This policy led to an increase in public opposition sentiment. Moreover, such actions were one of the main reasons for the American Revolution.

At the same time, New York denied the English garrison subsidies, and the English parliament refused to accept any claims related to the rulings of their legislative assemblies until America took the new changes. In an attempt to develop anti-English sentiment among Americans, politicians began mass agitation against the use of English goods. Soon they did indeed start to bring less income to England. Because of this, all new duties were subject to abolition already in 1770.

The navy tried to stop any smuggling attempts, and any mistake could be very costly. Thus, in March 1772, the fleet managed to lose two small vessels in the waters of Narragansett Bay and sent a well-armed schooner Gaspee. The impressive appearance of the latter was supposed to be sufficient to terrify any intruders, but everything went wrong again.

During the pursuit of another smuggler, Lieutenant Dudingston, who commanded the ship, managed to get aground, but so intense that his forces could not be removed. The smugglers, realizing all the helplessness of Gaspee, immediately returned to Providence for help, and, waiting for the night, arrived in a not small company of like-minded people.

On the morning of June 10, 1772, when was the Gaspee incident, the first blood was spilled, relating to the beginning of the upcoming American revolution. Since then, this event has been called the hms Gaspee incident.

The Gaspee incident involved an organization of 50 people under the leadership of sea captain Abraham Wypl captured a ship of the British military army called Gaspee. The boat was chasing smugglers, and when it had to go aground, the invaders attacked the entire crew. They took all the weapons and valuables and then burned the ship. A gunshot wound injured the ship’s commander, Lieutenant Dudingston.

While trying to find out who was responsible in Gaspee incident 1772, there were processes in America that were worse than pogroms and hijackings of ships. In March, the Virginian House of Citizens appointed a permanent Correspondents Committee, whose task was to correspond with legislators in other colonies about any potentially dangerous actions of the British.

This was a definite step towards the future of the United States. This and other events in Narragansett Bay marked the first violent rebellion against British Crown power in America that preceded the Boston Tea Party in more than a year and moved the thirteen colonies as a whole towards the war of independence.
