In any process, there are five elements, namely queue (before the operation begins), setup (ready for operation), run (operation performance), wait (after the operation ends), and move (physical movement between operations). The connection between these elements is definite and permanent, with the need to understand the value-added time and non-value-added time.
Run and setup are always value-added because these steps are necessary to prepare and perform tasks. Queue and wait time are usually non-value added because people may not wait for their orders to be done or their requests to be accepted. If not much time is required between operations, the move time may be non-value based. Still, many organizations prefer to consider it value-based to analyze each step and choose the necessary approach for every client.
