Most developed countries today are striving to ensure that their population is stable. Through various initiatives, they are doing this to ensure that the fertility rate does not fall below the replacement level. When the fertility rate falls below the replacement level, the country’s population will be dominated by the aging population, who are less productive. This always results in labor shortages, which is currently evident in Germany. The low birthrate reduces the country’s economic competitiveness and potentially reduces the growth of the country’s economy due to a lack of new ideas and labor.
