It is significant to note that Marduk was born fully grown, though his mother still had fed him since the day of his birth. Furthermore, Ea granted him the chance to become a double God, so “four sparkling eyes shone forth from Marduk’s face, enabling him to see everything, and four large ears extended outward, enabling him to hear everything.” In other words, since Marduk was the son of Ea and Damkina, he surpassed all gods in strength, intelligence, and power even before acquiring new abilities.
