What are Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz’s view of monads?

Leibniz was a scientist and had quite a scientific approach. He believed that all objects (the substance) are divisible into smaller units. According to this view, there are indivisible particles, monads. They consist of pure energy, and Leibniz referred to monads as souls. This approach is also consistent with the modern view of the universe, which consists of small units of energy.
