Watch the TED talk “You Are Contagious” by Edwards. Have you ever done any of the conversation killers that she discussed?

I have done some of the conversation killers that Edwards speaks about. When having meaningful dialogue, delivering a talk, or making a presentation, hand gestures might help people create better thoughts, speak in shorter sentences, and utilize more descriptive language.

However, poor gesturing can lead to misinterpretation of information and often kills the conversation. During most of my presentations, I engaged in inadequate hand gestures that misled my audience, and most of them lost interest in listening.
