The fire suppression in Wisconsin prairie remnants revealed that the native species were increased to some extent. The dry prairies have also witnessed the development of species that are exotic in nature. There was also a 10 percent decline in the indigenous species. Sites that were under no management at all experienced the most changes in the composition of species. Moreover, the shaded tolerant herbs and the woody vegetation are engulfing the dry prairie remnants. The study involving the impact of dams on riverine food webs and energy flow in rivers of the Pacific Northwest revealed that dams play a crucial role in facilitating food was located at the riverine zones in the sense that the very dams provide a source of water to the species under consideration.
