Two Kin Groups: Expressions of Separateness and Hostility

Compare how you behave with members of your family (vs. others) to how the Utku behave with members of their family (vs. others).

In order to do that, make sure to summarize how the Utku behaves within their kin group vs. with individuals outside their kin group and explain who you count as part of your family. Ground your answer on Chapter 4, “Two Kin Groups: Expressions of Separateness and Hostility,” of the book “Never in Anger: Portrait of an Eskimo Family” by Jean L. Briggs.
