What are your thoughts on the idea called The Wisdom of Silenus?

In “Being Good: A Short Introduction to Ethics,” Simon Blackburn says, “The dead, beyond it all, is to be envied. Death is a luxury. Best of all, not to have been born, but once born, better quickly dead.” This idea is called “The Wisdom of Silenus” and it is a very, very old idea (to give you an idea, Aristotle, born in 384 BCE, wrote about it, making it at least 2,400 years old!). What do you think about this idea?
