Thomas Friedman argues that the ‘world is flat.’ What does this mean? What are some examples of the ongoing importance of geography, and how does this relate to Friedman’s argument?

In the meaning of Thomas Friedman, the flat world is a synonym for globalization. He stands for the idea that all countries, the businesses big and small, play their role in building our world and eventually become parts of the global process of intersection. Geography determines the competitive advantage and lets countries use their positions for developing their strengths and participating in the formation of trading alliances and communities.
