To modify the organizational culture, the president Nayar implemented the steps included in Lewin’s change model. Firstly, he unfroze the existing situation by making employees aware of the need for change. As part of the shared diagnosis process, he forced all involved stakeholders to re-examine the core of the business and then motivated them to engage in the change process by taking a proactive approach and improving their performance. Nayar aligned strategic and workflow processes in the company (including shifts in the leadership style, 360-degree performance evaluations, and others) and aligned them with employees’ needs, as well as the formulated improvement objectives. Lastly, the new culture became refrozen through newly developed systems, such as reward initiatives and training programs.
