In fact, when communicating information to stakeholders, and in particular, to policymakers, there are some obstacles that hinder or even inhibit policy development. The list of such barriers may include problems in establishing contact, lack of arguments, the disinterestedness of the person responsible for accepting changes, ignorance of the target audience, and idealistic ideas about the political process. The latter includes a situation where a key figure has irrelevant or over-expectations from political decisions that are not in line with the real agenda: thus, the proposed option may not be considered solely because of the policymaker’s views.
As can be seen, most of these problems are aimed at the person concerned or the lack of effective communication per se. Therefore, to eliminate obstacles and stimulate decision-making, it is of paramount importance to discuss interaction strategies with the key figure. To do this, it is necessary to choose the right time, tone, and arguments that will contribute to a complimentary decision-maker. Simultaneously, it is an excellent strategy to familiarize the recipient with the current problem situation for which the solution was developed.
