The core signals of change involve evaluating three customer groups: a. Non-consumers, b. Consumers who are undershot, c. Consumers who are overshot. Describe each of these customer groups in terms of your intellectual property (project). Who are the non-consumers? Who are the undershot consumers? Who are the overshot consumers? You should provide a specific analysis for each group.

Non-consumers are the category of the market which, as a rule, are limited in certain resources or opportunities. According to Christensen, Anthony, and Roth, the members of this group usually “hire someone to do the job for them.” The main reasons for the inability to act as full-fledged consumers are the lack of money, access, or abilities.

Consumers who are undershot are a special category that includes those clients who are not satisfied with the quality of the goods they buy. Christensen et al. argue that, despite their dissatisfaction, the representatives of this group are willing to pay additionally to ensure that products meet the quality claimed by them and could justify their expectations. These consumers are a potentially profitable market audience.

Consumers who are overshot form a relatively new type of modern customers. According to Christensen et al. they “stop paying for further improvements.” In other words, the limitations of the goods purchased by them cannot make them pay more so that the products could correspond to their interests. This group of consumers is ambiguous because of the need for additional analysis of their preferences and interests.
