I disagree with the view that history is the best predictor of leadership effectiveness. The statement is untrue because leadership can be learned and past actions can be improved. This view is consistent with the behavioral leadership approach, which suggests that leadership can be learned and developed to promote effectiveness. In this context of the review, improvements are registered after tweaking different leadership styles to attain the desired level of performance. Therefore, the view that history is the best predictor of future performance is limiting and does not represent the full scope of leadership effectiveness that can be achieved in the workplace.
