  1. There are, in fact, rules of writing thesis statements and strategies that work best. Firstly, you want to make your thesis statement a complete sentence. Secondly, the main verb should be anything but “to be” in any forms. Finaly, your thesis statement, that is, one sentence should contain the whole idea of the paper. You should not split it.
For example, a thesis like “There are three reasons paper bags are better for the environment than plastic ones.” is a complete sentence but the main verb is “to be”, which sounds amateurish, and the idea is split.
A better one would be “Paper bags represent an environmen-friendly solution, cost less than their plastic equivalents, and have a longer duration period.” Pick a topic that you are interested in and that can be of interest to others, don’t get vague or overly specific, and evaluate the possible benefits of your writing.
    Good luck to you.

  3. You can just as well go and ask your tutors to explain the art of thesis statement writing to you. Besides, there is a plethora of academic, semi-academic and non-academic sources on the Web. There is also a thing with books in it called Library.
You may use either of them instead of asking the so-called scholars here who haven’t finished their middle school, for crissakes.
