In order to understand the relationship between the media and society first, we should understand the basic meaning of the media. Today’s media includes TV channels, newspapers, magazines, the World Wide Web radio, books, etc. Due to the availability of a lot of media, its influence on the people is also more pronounced. All around the world people use media frequently.
The influence of media on the public is so much that people start to see things from the perspective shown by the media. Due to the right of freedom of press and speech given to the media, it has the responsibility of providing non-biased information to us. However, the question is how much one can depend on media, the media does not always present a non-biased picture of the situation. In many cases, the media has taken a side and distorted the facts. In my opinion, the relationship between media and society is very complex, and to bring any changes in it would be very difficult. Nevertheless, one can take certain steps to improve the quality of work provided by the media. There should be some rules or authority to check that the information provided by the media is true and not politicized. Therefore, we can say that media is a tool, which should be used by one’s judgment.
