Diverse criteria are crucial for estimating the efficiency of certain operating systems and comparing these systems with one another. Linux is a well-known operating system created as one of Linus Torvalds’ projects, while Windows was developed by Bill Gates. Although many discussions concerning the effectiveness of both systems occur quite often, it has not yet been decided which of them is more reliable. However, many researchers and developers consider Linux to have broader functionality, security, and availability.

Firstly, based on the fulfilled research, Sulaiman and Raffi conclude that Linux shows a greater number of processes or apps that can be simultaneously running in the background and, additionally, lower energy consumption. Moreover, Torvalds’ operating system utilizes less time for computing and fulfilling the demanded actions, such as opening or closing certain windows. Hence, in my opinion, Linux ensures higher operational speed, lower levels of consumed energy, and higher effectiveness in performing the required functions; therefore, it might be better than Windows in particular showings.
