One of the patients had pancreatic cancer, so he had surgery on his pancreatic tail. The patient had abdomen incisions, and I was to ensure that they were dry. It was also important to make sure that the patient had not touched them. I remembered about my hand hygiene and the necessity to wear gloves. My nurse did not feel well, so she decided to put on a mask to prevent any possible infection. Carrico, Garrett, Balcom, and Glowicz stress that the minimization of potential exposures is critical for any clinical setting. My nurse’s commitment to safety measures made me more careful as well.
