Read the case Trump v. Hawaii, 585 U.S._(2018). Discuss whether you agree with the majority or with the dissenting justices. Explain your answer.

A

This issue is difficult to argue since this case presents a unique example where judicial legality and morality clash. Many pundits in public and even some of the justices’ opinion referred to the infamous Korematsu v. the United States case, which upheld the decision by President Roosevelt to ban travel from Japan and imprison the Japanese-American nationals in internment camps during World War II. Logically, the same presidential authority and the legal argument were used as in the case of the travel ban. However, that has become one of the most shameful and morally wrong moments in American legal and political history. Utilizing the same approach is wrongful, and the conservative Court Justices should have considered that factor. Therefore, the author of this report argues that although one can recognize that Trump followed the letter of the law as defining the Presidential authority, it is inconsistent with American national or legal values.
