By operating as a salesman, Gregor was able to support his family before his transition. Gregor awakens in his new nature of a giant arthropod, a new nature that instilled great fear in all. For this reason, he makes an effort and fails to switch over. He realizes he has overslept and will miss his commuter train. Gregor’s mother bangs on his door, worried that Gregor will be late for work. Gregor tries to respond to his mother, but his speech has changed, which concerns his sister. His sister implores him to unlock the door; Gregor, however, is unsuitable for his new position context. It takes him much effort to get out of bed and unlock the door.
During this experience, the chief clerk arrived to notify Gregor of the implications of his lateness and to comment on Gregor’s unsatisfactory work. Gregor riots and pledges to unlock the door as soon as possible, but no one at the other entrance recognizes. When he finally opens, his mother loses consciousness, and the supervisor flees the residence. Gregor flees in pursuit of his boss, who has left. On the other hand, Gregor’s father pursues him home into his space with a wooden stick and a wrapped newspaper and shuts the door.
Gregor’s transformation hurts the chances of his family from the start. Even though he is their son, his parents detest him, and later Grete, his sister, begins to detest him. His father must return to jobs to support the family monetarily. Amidst Grete’s mother’s disapproval, Grete initially seeks to assume responsibility by feeding Gregor and cleaning his space because they used to have a close relationship. Grete, however, develops a dislike for her brother as an outcome of the hardship she faces. She insists that they should do away with Gregor, and unless they do, their lives are destroyed. Their father concurs, wishing that he would acknowledge them and be free to exit. Posed a danger to them, Gregor comprehends and dies in his house.
