Read Jonathan Swift’s Gulliver’s Travels, Part IV of the book, and discuss it.

Lemuel Gulliver is an imagined storyteller of the world’s masterpiece called “Gulliver’s Travels.” The narrator tells in part IV about humanity in Europe but does not speak about any specific aspect of his country. While talking about Yahoos and their governance, Houyhnhnms asked about local horses and their power, as they did not have any idea about the importance of these animals. Gilliver explains that they are used for traveling, and in general, they are close to humans.

Houyhnhnms cannot imagine how such Yahoos can trust a horse that is many times stronger. The narrator states that their horses are taught to stay calm and help people in difficult situations from a young age. This chapter explains the concept of lies and truth in depth. Moreover, Swift begins to be explained, and it proves the theories about right and wrong. The main aspect of Swift is that horses cannot lie, and their nature is to stay with people who will not harm them.

The conclusion of Swift described in chapter IV is that governmental power and laws are artificial, and all outcomes depend on people and their actions. The lie and truth theory equivalents morally the clothes which Yahoos wear. The swift idea does not require lawyers as it asks people to stay correct in their actions and true to themselves. Gulliver leaves his child and pregnant wife to understand European standards more and expand new horizons. Consequently, the storyteller manages to gain more new information and spread it across the world.
