A good example of a deceptive display of graphical data is shown below. Here, the y-axis was truncated, which is why one could think that Maduro won Venezuela’s presidential election by a large margin. However, if a zero baseline is added and the 3D effect is removed, it can be seen that there is a little difference between the percentages of votes.
