Present your final topic and problem statement. Share a few of the resources (journals, databases, scholarly articles, etc.) you have vetted. Identify those you found useful and those you have dismissed and explain why. Describe what you have done so far for research (how many sources you have found that are keepers, and how many you have dismissed). Share how you are keeping everything organized and free from accidental plagiarism. Share your plans for completing and managing your remaining research and deadlines.

The main topic of the research is to discover a connection of the development of type 2 diabetes with lifestyle due to a high prevalence of this medical condition among diverse population groups. Based on this matter, the problem can be formulated as “Even though type 2 diabetes is a challenging health concern affecting the quality of life and everyday activities, making some changes in one’s lifestyle may be helpful for minimizing risks of being diagnosed with it and addressing the diabetes epidemic challenge in the modern world”. To review this issue from dissimilar angles, it was necessary to write a literature review. For example, the article by Ley, Hamdy, Mohan, and Hu was useful since it addressed the dietary patterns, nutrition, and their effects on the development of type 2 diabetes. Along with that, sources like the American Diabetes Association were also used to acquire a general image of the topic. These publications and other ones (4) were included in the literature review and research proposal since they complied with the identified topic.

As for dismissed publications, the article by Dabelea et al. was not considered since it duplicated information from the sources discussed previously and did not offer new insights to the selected topic while having a strong focus on the prevalence of the disease among children. The total number of excluded sources was four for similar reasons. Speaking of the management of the research process, I decided to organize my own schedule that would help me meet the set deadlines. At the same time, this approach would assist me in considering the important elements of research study such as methodology, validity, reliability, and literature review and discovering them in detail. To avoid plagiarism, I relied on plagiarism-identifying software and took advantage of the APA citation style. It could be said that employing a combination of these approaches would help me manage my research effectively and meet the deadlines.
