The case of a woman with weakness and reduced mobility is an example of how nursing negligence can lead to dangerous health outcomes. After the prescribed treatment, the medical staff was instructed on the importance of preventing the development of pressure sores. This problem is common among patients with reduced mobility, and precedents in care homes occur periodically. As a result, injuries caused by nurses’ non-compliance with their immediate duties led to the patient’s representatives going to court and winning the case. According to Chaboyer et al. and Gunningberg, Sedin, Andersson, and Pingel, in a hospital setting, only the competence and responsibility of staff may help avoid tissue damages. In this case, the principles of patient safety were severely violated.
