The horizontal and sagittal planes are both anatomical planes of motion of the human body. The horizontal plane goes parallel to the ground and separates the superior anatomical locations (chest cavity, cranial cavity, etc.) from the inferior (legs, feet). The sagittal plane is vertical to the ground that goes through the middle of the body, separating left from right and creating quasi-symmetrical halves.
