Our Founding Fathers wanted a government that would make errors of omission rather than adding laws we would later regret. They made it very difficult to get a law through Congress. Do you agree that it should be very hard to pass a law? Why or why not?

A

I agree that it should be very hard to pass a law because errors of omission are very grave as compared to the errors of omission. Congress made it very difficult for a law to pass through to prevent the occurrence of the errors of omission. Many nations encounter instances of constitutional crisis due to the errors of omission they made in their laws. By the time an error of omission manifests itself in the constitution, it must have caused serious damages to the nation or individuals. The errors of omission in the constitution are very hard to amend because democracy entails protecting the constitution rather than amending it to achieve the desired end. For example, many nations signed and ratified several treaties, unaware of the repercussions, thus leading to regrets that cannot help anymore. Some treaties are binding with strict conditions, while others are perpetual, hence difficult to amend. Therefore, it should be very hard to pass a law.
