HRD initiatives introduced by Nayar focused on employee empowerment since they were expected to be key actors in driving the change in the company and improvement of its overall performance and innovativeness. To do so, Talent Transformation and Intrapreneurship Development program focused on the promotion of an in-depth understanding of projects and job-related processes in workers. It is valid to say that such HRD practices would be particularly useful in those industries where creativity and innovation are of great importance. Moreover, they are transferrable to countries that value individualism and autonomy. However, since India is ranked high in the dimensions of power distance and a long-term orientation, local employees may find it difficult to adapt to increased work autonomy and the necessity to deal with uncertainty independently because they are used to respect hierarchy and comply with prescribed norms and procedures.
