While traveling around the country, Betsey and Ike make love freely, but the woman further falls out of love with the man. After that, much happens to Betsey: she runs away from a Mormon leader and gets invited to dance with a California miner. The melody created by guitar and violin is consistent and only changes in the gaps between the verses.
