The song “A Buffalo Said to Me” has a distinctive timbre with a gapped scale and tense vocal quality. There is also a pitch outside the pentatonic scale that sounds out of tune.
Moreover, this pitch appears multiple times since the song is repetitive: music repeats using the exact words from line to line. The second arrow illustrates the melodic contour most accurately since the contour is descending, beginning near the apex and ending near the nadir.
