Leiden Informal Settlement Upgrading Project

Draw up a proposal that will benefit the families in the Leiden Delft area without much disturbance in their day-to-day activities.

This project is about the plight of the informal settlement which bloomed in the corner of Delft Main and Leiden Ave, Leiden Delft. This informal settlement struggles with the following:

• No portable water supply for individual homes;
• The homes are cramped, with little or no spaces in between them to provide access during emergencies and fires;
• No proper sanitation;
• Stormwater provision;
• Roads;
• Illegal electricity connections with the limited space and a small area occupied by many families in this area.
