Khanna claims that the world’s most compelling ideology is not freedom, democracy, authority, religion, or philosophy. Instead, the goal is simply to be successful. Do you agree? Explain your reasoning.

A

The claim of success is not accurate for the most part. Historically and in the modern-day, ideology has been the driving factor to practically every political action. While success may be a goal, for many leaders, it should occur in the political conditions that they believe are proper for the country. Therefore, ideology remains the cause and root of most actions and conflicts. In many cases, leaders act upon ideological beliefs to detriment their countries. For example, a recent anti-immigration stance of the U.S. government has led to the termination of DACA despite the law being inherently beneficial for the country, both socially and economically.
