Joe is currently in 12th grade. Joe reports that he is under enormous pressure and feels stressed. He is unsure about his career goals following graduation and comes to you for career counseling. How would you assess the impact of life roles, family, work, and mental health issues with this client?

Joe has already reported being under pressure, so I would go from there. I would ask him who makes him feel forced to make a choice and what impact it has on his life and mental health. Since he is likely to talk about his parents, it could be beneficial to inquire about their life scenarios and what they deem best for their son. Another question I would ask would be what repercussions he would face if he decided to stray and follow his own path.
