Italian friend and the exchange program in the USA.

My friend told me that students in the United States never write essays but do quizzes instead.
She was puzzled.
Do Americans really study like this?

  1. It depends on a number of factors. For example, schools offer different opportunities. I had different debates and essays in school. However, I cannot say that we did too many quizzes.
    The US is a big country, and you can never generalize statements.
    My friend and his Italian wife live in Rome, and he is shocked that the Italian school give too many homework to the students.

    I will never understand such a difference between not great secondary educational system and the best universities in the world.

    You know, in the Great Britain children write essays from the age of 10 and take part in serious debates at the age of 15-16.
    While I was studying at the US University, I was shocked when I realized that they don’t know how to make arguments.
    My Italian professor and I found a common language.

    The higher education is too expensive, and that is why they should enter the night school.
