In which city was the madrasa founded?

It is believed that the first categories of educational institutions, called “madrasa” were first founded in the city of Baghdad. The surge in the construction of these schools occurred around the XI century in the Seljuk Empire. Additionally, the emergence of this type of institution is often associated with the name of Vizier Nizam al-Mulk, who was responsible for organizational issues within the framework of the construction of the official madrasa.
