Hypoglycemia means low blood glucose and it occurs when the body does not have enough glucose to use as energy. Signs and symptoms of low blood sugar include sweating, tremor, salivation, clouded consciousness, tonic spasm, and decreased heart rate. Salivation occurs due to the fact that hypoglycemia signals hunger centers to be ready to consume.
