Some of the GASB recent standards are replacement of interbank offered rates, irrevocable split-interest agreements, certain debt extinguishment issues, omnibus 2020, and majority equity interest. These amendments aim at improving and providing essential information about the financial statement about the capital assets and the related cost of acquiring loans. The improvements will allow GERS to minimize the problem of underfunding because it will have insight into the expected fund status.
