Research is the process of inquisition and exploration and is performed with specific goals and purposes. One of the following should be the goal and purpose of your research project:

• Teach the audience something new about a topic.
• Inform the audience about something they may not have considered about a topic.
• Draw attention to a hidden problem, group, issue, concern, policy, or process.
• Introduce an innovative new approach or technique concerning the topic.
• Offer a solution to a prevailing problem or issue.
• Persuade the audience to take some action concerning the topic.
