Healthcare professionals should provide accurate information to the patient’s family and describe the potential consequences if the patient does not comply with the prescriptions and recommendations. Afterward, the family, fearing the possible adverse outcomes, may pressure the patient to follow all the directions. This pressure may take different forms – motivating the patient and other means of psychological influence.
