Social psychologists suggest that when research findings from the field are applied to our personal lives, they can be extremely beneficial. Aspects of our life where social psychology can be used include our relationships, our way of thinking, and mental and physical health.

The cognitive fatigue or overload that occurs when people must think about how to interact with another person makes the relationship more difficult to maintain than it is worth. As a result, persons with extensive knowledge of applied social psychology can use their results in both personal and professional settings.

Feeling responsible for an object in this manner (i.e., caring for and preserving it) is thus associated with stewardship conduct, which is defined by individuals working in the best interests of other parties, such as the firm and the principal.
