Mobile telephony has brought tremendous changes in communication. The role of gender in the rise of mobile telephony technology cannot be underscored. Mobility is emotionally attached. Different forms of mobility are, without a doubt, for women. The mobile phone era is characteristic of hasty life in the first lane or rather work-life balance. Mobile phones form one of the most intimate gadgets. The manufactures of these tools of communication have realized this, hence resulting in mobile customization. Services available such as SMS represent a great level of intimacy for the users. The devices foster intimate social relationships. Increasingly they are being used for flirting, avoiding face-off conversation. Some prefer the short texting messages in favor of email and even support the use of MMS, which is engaging.

The pivotal role played by these mobile phones cannot be downplayed in a good healthy relationship. Relating to the affordability of mobile devices with computers, many will agree that they are of reach to many people. Coupled with mobility, the devices are convenient. Talk about speed message delivery, most women concur with the fact that the devices are fast as compared to the old forms, such as the use of letters. Within contemporary society, diversification is of the essence; the concept of mobility is not isolated but contextualized in other forms of communication.
